The Magic of a Frosty Morning and the Warmth of Friendship by the Woolen Thread ❄️💛🧶

This morning, Hämeenlinna was wrapped in a magical frost mist. The haze floating above the lake, the tree branches dressed in frost, and the soft glow of the morning light created an almost fairytale-like atmosphere—one that makes you pause for a moment and take a deep breath. Winter brings its own challenges, but it also offers moments that feel like they’ve been painted onto the world. On mornings like this, I feel an immense gratitude for both the beauty of nature and the people around me.

Friday was also Valentine’s Day or as we Finns like to call it Friendship Day, which made me reflect on the meaning of friendship in life. Friends are not just those we have known for years but also those with whom we share moments, laughter, and the joy of learning something new—even by the tufting frame! 🧶✨
Tufting has brought so many wonderful people into my life. In courses and workshops, new friendships have formed, and deep conversations have taken place while our fingers have sunk into the softness of woolen threads. Threads of all kinds connect people, but there is something especially warm about wool—it weaves us together both literally and figuratively.
The joy of creating together became beautifully tangible when I worked on the LOVE textile through tufting. This piece symbolizes everything that crafting with one’s hands can be: love for art, togetherness, and the courage to try new things. It’s wonderful to see how people inspire each other and how every handprint tells its own unique story.
So, whether you are a lifelong friend or a new acquaintance brought into my life by the thread, thank you. Thank you for sharing this journey with me and bringing warmth to the heart of winter. 💛
Wishing everyone a wonderful Sunday—see you in the world of tufting! 🧵💖✨
